Hon. Sola Olofin, the newly appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), glads to receive Mr. Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, the Director General of the National Employer’s Consultative Association(NECA) to his office. The meeting was aimed at fostering a robust and mutual working relationship between NSITF and NECA, as well as familiarizing Hon. Olofin with key management staff of NECA.
As the Chairman of NSITF, Hon. Olofin’s role involves overseeing the implementation of the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS), which provides compensation to employees or their dependents in the event of work-related injuries or death. The scheme also aims to provide rehabilitation to employees with work-related disabilities.
It’s worth noting that Hon. Olofin’s appointment as Chairman of NSITF was part of a broader set of appointments made by Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in January 2025. With his experience as an ICT and management expert, Hon. Olofin is well-positioned to lead NSITF in its mission to provide social security protection and safety nets for Nigerian workers as well as reposition the for greater hight.
