News SOCIETY WATCH following for you ; Today, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, Dr. Abiodun Essiet, received a delegation from the Embassy of the United States of America in Nigeria, led by the Deputy Political Counselor, Dianna Palequin, alongside the Human Rights Officer, Dave Young, and Political Specialist, Victoria Ibi.
Discussions focused on the Federal Government’s ongoing community engagement initiatives aimed at promoting peace, strengthening social cohesion across the Middle Belt, and addressing persistent security challenges affecting local communities.
The U.S. officials expressed strong interest in understanding the root causes of the crisis in the region and supporting efforts toward conflict mitigation, peacebuilding, and stability.
Dr. Essiet appreciated the Embassy’s continued partnership and commitment to advancing durable peace and community resilience in Nigeria.
