News SOCIETY WATCH following for you; Governor Sim Fubara has spoken about his strained relationship with his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike.
Fubara expressed his gratitude for the help and support he has received from others. However, he stated that he will not lead Rivers State by being overly submissive or overly loyal to the point of losing his own integrity.
Fubara said if the only way to show loyalty is by constantly being subservient, he would rather step down and return home. He said ruling in such a manner would be harmful to him and also to the people of Rivers State and future generations. He stated his commitment to standing firm and leading with confidence
In Fubara’s words: “If it is only being on my knees is the way that will be seen as being loyal, I will walk away, pack everything that I have here and go and relax in my house comfortably. Because it will be a disaster not just to me, but to everyone and even my own generation. So I will continue to stand tall”
